Nos. 1/2: Long before she was eligible to become a Mariner, Patsy Wade, 15, Pacific Palisades, had set her heart upon becoming one of the girl sea-going scouts. But polio at the age of seven prevented realization. Undaunted, however, she has been studying seamanship principals and knows the book from page one to the end. She is a member of the Ship Star Dust of the Pacific Palisades where she has been made a co-swain, secretary and adviser to girls studying seamanship.
