Replication Data for: Unveiling Gendered Terrorism: Why Western Women Joined the Islamic State

This file contains a unique dataset of 114 rhetorical appeals pulled from ISIS' propaganda magazine, Dabiq. 57 of these appeals were directed towards men in 6 issues and the other 57 were targeted at women in 6 issues. In this dataset, I labeled each rhetorical appeal as one or more of seven categories, chosen based on scholars' beliefs about the motivations of individuals to join ISIS.本数据集收录了撷取自伊斯兰国（ISIS）宣传杂志《达比克（Dabiq）》的114条修辞诉求（rhetorical appeals）。其中57条面向男性群体，源自该杂志6期内容；剩余57条针对女性群体，同样源自该杂志6期内容。本数据集依据学者们关于个体加入伊斯兰国动机的学术观点，为每条修辞诉求标注了七个类别中的一个或多个类别。
