The bud rot is the most important disease of oil palm in Colombia, Phytophthora palmivora is the causal agent of this disease. The genome of P. palmivora was sequenced using PacBio and Illumina technologies. This pathogen was isolated from oil palm plantation from crops of the central zone, Colombia.This study was carried out by the Colombian Oil Palm Research Center, Cenipalma.This project is authorized by Access to Genetic Resources Contract 194-2017 between Cenipalma and the Environmental Ministry of Colombia. The isolates of P. palmivora are Colombian biological resources.
