资源简介:
It have been long appreciated that the gut symbiont microbiotas play roles in host nutrient acquisition, antibiotic resistance, and pathogen defense, thereby crucially affecting the health status of the individual. These observations have led scientists to hypothesize that dysbiosis (unhealthy shifts in microbial community composition) in the gut microbial composition is concurrent with host diseases. Currently, the connection between the gut microbiota and host health is an important topic that has much interest, yet it has not received adequate attention outside of vertebrate, mammalian systems (particularly humans and mice). Therefore broad-scale surveys of the gut microbial communities coupled with the health states of aquatic invertebrate, will extend our understanding of the gut microbiota role in host health and the underlying ecological mechanisms.
