We have conducted systematic studies using a microfluidic platform to investigate the degradation rate of crude oil via physical and biological processes including oil dissolution, evaporation, and bio-consumption by hydro-carbon degrading bacteria. In the current study, we focused on the volume change of micro-oil droplet and structure of biofilm at oil water interface. The volume was measured using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) in Tapping mode. The biofilm structure or raft are measured using conventional inverted microscope. This dataset reports AFM data from experiments printing different sizes of base oil droplets (5, 10, 20, 50 micron) with pico-liter volumes in both square and circles. Results from patterning are also provided.
