The Board of Studies was devised by the principal of Wagga Wagga Teachers' College in June 1964. The Board itself comprised of the heads of the major departments, and the principal and vice-principal. As such, the Board of Studies closely resembled the defunct Faculty meetings held by the college in the 1950s, particularly in its membership. The Board was formulated to deal with matters such as: rectifying deficiencies in academic courses; the overall control and supervision of the demonstration program; the inter-relationship between courses, demonstrations and practice teaching; and the implementation, direction and supervision of policies.
