Resistivity traversing data

Raster files and contours of DC resistivity traversing data collected by GNS Science and its predecessor organisations since the 1950s. Most data were collected from 1970 to 1997. These data are used primarily for geothermal exploration and are particularly useful for mapping the extent of geothermal fields. The greatest number of measurements are in the Taupo Volcanic Zone, with some smaller surveys in the Waihi area and Ngawha in Northland. Nearly all data have been collected using the Schlumberger array with nominal AB/2 spacings of 500 and 1000 metres. Some data using Wenner array with a nominal electrode spacing of 800 metres are also part of the dataset. Data collected in Lake Taupo have a nominal electrode spacing of 500 metres.
