MOD_SISM_RER - A new 3D seismotectonic model of the Northern Apennines Pedeapenninic margin for Seismic Hazard Assessment

The 3D seismotectonic model of a sector of the Northern Appenines chain, created using the 3D modeling software Leapfrog Works, reconstructs the 8 primary chronostratigraphic units from the surface down to ∼20 km, integrating geological, geophysical, and seismological datasets, including geological cross-sections and seismic lines calibrated with stratigraphic boreholes data. The geometries of 54 active faults have been reconstructed, including 12 seismogenic faults that can be used for seismic hazard calculations. In summary, this work presents a 3D seismotectonic database that can be utilized for both practical and educational, as well as scientific, purposes.The .zip file contains 8 folders and a 'Read Me' file that explains the contents of each:1) The "Boreholes" folder contains two .csv files: collar and LA Geology, which indicate the geographic coordinates and the stratigraphy within the wells, respectively.2) The "Geological_cross_sections" folder contains all the images of the cross-sections used to create the model, as well as a shapefile of their traces in plan view.3) The "Seismic_lines" folder contains images of the seismic lines and the corresponding shapefile of their traces.5) The "Seismicity" folder contains .shp and .csv files of earthquakes up to December 2023, along with focal mechanism data used to identify seismogenic faults.6) The "Stress_field" folder provides information on the stress field measured at specific locations within the model area.7) The "Attribute_tables" folder contains the completed Excel files provided to ISPRA to link the attributes of faults, horizons, and volumes to the 3D surfaces.8) The "3D_objects" folder contains four .ts files containing all the 3D shapes created.
