# INTRODUCTION

This application offers fundamental account monitoring, providing insights into compute and storage costs and storage sizes.

&nbsp; • Credit consumption is broken down to service type, compute, storage, dynamic tables, snowpipes, materialized views, tasks, queries and more.<br/>&nbsp; • Top expensive cost items are shown as well as daily trends and averages.

Having visibility into this usage information enables you to identify where costs are incurred and generate significant costs savings and optimizations.

# CHART TYPES

Each cost item is shown with two charts (left and right)

&nbsp; • **Total cost** per item over the selected time interval.<br/>&nbsp; This *horizontal histogram* chart helps identify the top most *expensive items*<br/>&nbsp; • **Daily cost** per item over the selected time interval.<br/>&nbsp; This *vertical bars* chart helps identify **usage patterns** as well as ***peak times***, ***trends*** or ***bottlenecks*****.**<br/>&nbsp; Additionally, this chart shows<br/>&nbsp; ° **Total daily** cost trend curve<br/>&nbsp; ° **Average cost** line (helps identify ***outliers***)

# INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

After getting and installing the application, the ACCOUNTADMIN needs run it once and, when prompted, grant it permission to read the SNOWFLAKE database for relevant information.

## &nbsp; Usage

&nbsp; • **ACCOUNTADMIN** can grant access to desired roles (e.g. **SYSADMIN**, ..., **PUBLIC**).<br/>&nbsp; • During application usage, users can choose any WAREHOUSE *available to their role* to run the app.

> NOTE: Cost of using the app itself will go against the selected WAREHOUSE.

# PRIVACY

The application reads only **Snowflake usage data**.<br/>The application **doesn't create, read, write or execute any other Snowflake objects**.
