资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The series from Johnson’s Creek Public School is currently represented by a single volume, the last of the series, which records boys’ admissions to the school from 1914 and girls’ admissions from 1915. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name, age and religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school, and the name of the school to which the pupil may have transferred, or any occupation entered into on leaving school, are also recorded.Pupils are listed in order of admission. Entries are numbered sequentially from the beginning of the volume. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages, and are numbered in distinct sequences until 1951, whereupon girls’ admissions begin to be numbered in sequence with those of the boys. From 1961 the last two digits of the year of admission are prefixed to each entry number, and this has been done retrospectively to some of the entries for 1959 and 1960 also.
