Endophytes associated with Rhizophora mangle and Avicenia germinans

The aim of this study is to characterize the community of endophytic microorganisms associated with Rhizophora mangle and Avicennia germinas at the metagenomic and metatranscriptomic levels. Shotgun sequencing and RNAseq approaches were used to generate libraries from leaf and root tissues of both mangrove species. The information generated in this project will contribute to the understanding of how plant-microbe interactions are relevant for the adaptation of mangrove plants in the intertidal zone.
