## **Overview**

> This is a sample of Dotlas' UAE Real Estate Residential Building Footprints data product. The product contains **`7K+ building footprints`** across the UAE, along with `building entrance locations` for the city of `Dubai` (locally referred to as Makani).

## Data Format
Data is available as:
* A Delta Lake table
* ESRI Shapefile
* GeoJSON

`GeoPandas` in python, is used to read and interact with these formats in the sample notebook.

## **Data Sources & Methodology**
* Districts, subdistricts and building entrance locations are sourced from the official government data portal of the UAE
* Building Geometries are sourced from [OpenStreetMap](https://osmbuildings.org/) and other online sources.
* Building names & locations are sourced from various online and offline sources to index buildings in the UAE.
