German state parliaments – Individual and contextual data

The data covers all Member of Parliaments (MPs) belonging to the 16 German state parliaments between 1990 and 2021. The data includes information at four levels: (1) MPs: the MP herself; such as sex, year of birth, party membership, or parliamentary roles; (2) Party: the party an MP belongs to, such as vote share, party positions, women in leadership positions, or government participation; (3) LP: the legislative period in which an observed MP is placed, such as turnout, information on all legislative parties, or information on the parliamentary presidency; and (4) State: the state in a given year, including political, social, and economic information.
