Genome-wide expression profiling was used to study the effects of constitutive expression of pea apyrase psNTP9 in leaves of vegetative soybean plants (Glycine max cv. Williams 82; V5 developmental stage) grown under greenhouse conditions. In transgenic line 14A, differentially-expressed genes in enriched GO BioProcess categories suggest enhanced protein synthesis and water use efficiency phenotypes. Experimental verification of these phenotypes is under investigation.
