Dataset for the publication "A Water Analysis Trailer for Environmental Research (WATER)"

Data and Python scripts used for Figures 4-6 and associated analysis in the publication: "A Water Analysis Trailer for Environmental Research" Structure Folder: analysis_scripts subsampling_water_percentile_step_fd.py -> for sub-sampling the data based on different sampling scenarios, generating histograms (Fig 6), and summarising the data for each scenario. water_paper_data_plot.py -> for creating the data figures (Fig 4 and Fig 5) and generating summary statistics. Folder: discharge discharge_ls_176_10min_infill.csv -> stream discharge at the outlet of the Schwingbach at 10 minute resolution. Folder: rainfall precipitation_pluvio178_mm10min_infill.csv -> 10 minute rainfall totals Pluivo rainfall sampler. Folder: sub-samples-hist Created by /analysis_scripts/subsampling_water_percentile_step_fd.py In all files, water quality parameters are labelled 0 (stable water isotopes), 1 (nitrate), 2 (electrical conductivity). Sub-folders (Base, Daily, S1) contain .csv for each source containing the retained samples for each sub-sampling scenario. For Daily, missing days have been infilled with NaN. For other scenarios, no infilling of data takes place. changes_focused.xlsx -> summarises the changes in parameter summary statistics for the focused period. hist_bins_density_all_new_n.csv -> for each source (n), the histogram bins from the baseline scenario and the probability densities in each bin for all scenarios. Also given are summary statistics for each parameter for all scenarios and the differences in summary statistics for alternative sampling strategies relative to the baseline. hist_bins_density_focused_new_n.csv -> as above, but based on the focused period of analysis. sampling_sequence.csv -> the sequence of samples successfully taken by the WATER. Folder: summaries summary_overview_plot_final.csv -> created by /analysis_scripts/water_paper_data_plot.py and contains summary statistics of hydrometric, water quality and isotope data collected at each site. summary_focussed_plot_final.csv -> as above but based on a focussed period of analysis. Folder: test This is where output would be generated by running the scripts in the analysis_scripts folders Folder: trailer Site ids -> 176 = SW1, 259 = SW2, 125 = GW1, 234 = GW2, 195 = GW3. water_quality_n_adv1hr.csv -> stable water isotope, nitrate and electrical conductivity data collected by the WATER at each non-precipitation site. water_quality_258_adv1hr_filtered.csv -> stable water isotope, nitrate and electrical conductivity data for precipitation.
