资源简介:
The three databases made available were compiled as part of research tasks 1 and 2 of the OPUS 27 project “Reverberations: Museum Audio Description and Intersemiotic Translation Practices” (UMO-2024/53/B/HS2/04292), funded by Poland's National Science Centre (NCN). Task 1 involved creating a corpus of museum audio descriptions corresponding to selected movements in modern art: Impressionism, Postimpressionism, Expressionism, Cubism, Abstract Art, and Surrealism. Task 2 involved creating a corpus of musical and literary transpositions of selected paintings and art movements included in the audio description corpus. The audio description database deposited in the repository (789 records; 13 columns) contains records of Polish- and English-language museum audio descriptions, whose recordings (texts) will undergo quantitative and qualitative analysis as part of the project. Each record has been cataloged by artistic movement, stylistic subcategory, painting technique, artist, and title of the described work, year of creation, language of the description, gender of the voice artist (optional field), and the institution exhibiting the work. The records contain links to reproductions of the described works and to the source recordings or transcriptions of the audio descriptions. Stylistic categorization was conducted in consultation with Contractor 2 (Miłosz Pobiedziński, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków). The database of literary adaptations deposited in the repository (97 records; 7 columns) contains records of literary texts (poems, prose excerpts, essays) that were searched for and cataloged based on their affiliation with a given artistic movement or their direct connection to a selected painting included in the audio description database. The selection was made by PI in collaboration with the research team. Complete bibliographic data for each text, along with references to sources, were collected. The database of musical transpositions deposited in the repository (29 records; 6 columns) contains records of musical works that were searched for and cataloged in the same manner as literary texts, with the selection made by Contractor 1 (Mohammad Nadim Housni, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Krakow). Bibliographic data was collected along with references to recommended performances available online. The data was entered and structured manually in spreadsheets.
