Worldwide employment by registered airlines in the United Kingdom 2002-2022

The number of people employed by United Kingdom (UK) based airline companies across the world was significantly cut in the 2009 recession. Since 2010, the figure has been gradually increasing again but declined again amid the COVID-19 pandemic, dropping to around 64,400 employees in 2021. However, this figure rebounded and reached 79,199 employees in 2022.
