The indicator estimates the total contribution expected from each renewable energy technology/source (geothermal-th, solar-th, biomass-th and heat pumps) in each Member States and EU-28 renewable heat final consumption to meet the binding 2020 targets as defined in Directive 2009/28/EC. Renewable energy sources in this sector include subcategories for biomass-th (solid biomass-th, biogas-th, bioliquids-th)
