Dataset: Anticipated regeneration cuts in transitional high forests of beech
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains field measurements from beech forests in the Southern and Eastern Alps, where four regeneration treatments were tested in transitional high forests: (1) thinning from below (control), (2) group shelterwood establishment cut, (3) clear-cut, and (4) crop tree release. Data include tree- and plot-level variables such as basal area, biomass, leaf area index (LAI), seedling density, sapling height, and harvesting times. The dataset supports the article "Anticipated regeneration cuts in transitional high forests of beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) in Eastern Prealps: ecological and economic impacts" and provides evidence on the ecological and economic outcomes of regeneration cuts applied at 70 years, compared to the conventional rotation period.
