资源简介:
Background: SteamPilot explores the 'Steampunk' style, a sub-genre of contemporary pop culture. Popularised at times by an artist like Justin Beiber and movies such as 'Suckerpunch' it subsequently retreats into its subcultural domain. It is a consistent theme however, since being defined by H.G Wells and Jules Verne and named in the late 1960's as a spinoff of the Cyberpunk genre. The initial project was co-developed with the programmer Ben Britten (Tin Man Games). The work was the first title developed to operate specifically for iPad tablets. It was completely constructed by the artists using the development environment, GameSalad. The completed work was reviewed and published by Apple In. in March 2012. Significance: An early prototype was presented at Game Development Conference, San Francisco 2010. John Lycette was interviewed by 'indiegamepod.com' regarding the work and a record of that interview is posted here: http://www.indiegamepod.com/?p=1791 The project was revisited in 2012 and further developed using partial funding from Film Victoria (Digital Media Fund). This is a competitive fund, works are chosen by a panel of Film Victoria staff and external game developers. For this work to be published by Apple Inc. it had to meet Apple's content and technical guidelines. The production is reviewed to these standards and if approved it is published. The completed work was reviewed by 148apps.com in March 2012. 148apps.com is an app review website that was founded in 2008 shortly after the Apple Appstore came into existence. It is one of the longest running review websites, recognised for its quality and reliability. Review: http://www.148apps.com/reviews/steampilot-review/
