Common Prosperity Aspiration in Rural China: A Community-Centered Mixed-Methods Approach to Measurement and Policy

This dataset is derived from a research project aimed at developing a rural residents' desire for common prosperity scale. The dataset consists of field survey data. 1. Data generation process and processing methods: In Study 2 and Study 3, self-evaluation data of the rural residents' desire for common prosperity scale were collected through summer recruitment of returning college students. 2. Dataset Content: Time and Space Information: The data collection period is from July to August 2024, covering 18 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government in China, including the eastern region (including Zhejiang Province, Shandong Province, Hainan Province, Jiangsu Province, Hebei Province, Beijing, Liaoning Province, and Guangdong Province), the central region (including Hunan Province, Hubei Province, Jiangxi Province, Henan Province, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region), and the western region (including Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, Gansu Province, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region). Number of data records: including 581 and 659 valid questionnaires respectively. 3. Data table structure: (1) EFA+EGA: Demographic information, original items of the Common Prosperity Desire Scale. (2) CFA: Demographic Information, Common Prosperity Desire Scale Criteria. (3) Retest: Demographic information, Common Prosperity Desire Scale. 4. The data does indeed have errors: a small number of missing values in the sample are less than 5%. In this study, the mean replacement method was used for processing. 5. Data file description: XLSX format, containing demographic information, rating data for various variables, etc.
