Observational Data and Analysis for the Paper "New Observations of the Strongly Magnetic O-star NGC 1624-2 Reveal Its Magnetic South Pole"
收藏资源简介:
We provide supplemental materials for the Seadrow et al. (2026) paper analyzing new observations of the magnetic O-star NGC 1624-2, which demonstrate the observability of its southern magnetic pole. This paper has been publised with ApJ, DOI 10.3847/1538-4357/ae67f5. Most of this work was done using SpecpolFlow, the python-based, spectropolarimetric data analysis software by Folsom et al. (2025). In this zenodo pacakge we provide: 1) original and processed (i.e. co-added and normalized) Espadons and Narval Observations, 2) work to verify that we could reproduce (or achieve strong agreement with) the analysis by David-Uraz et al. (2021) using SpecpolFlow, and 3) the analysis reported in Seadrow et al. (2026). Items 2 and 3 include normalization parameters, isolated line profiles for magnetic field measurements, parameters used for measuring <B_l> (mean longitudinal field, occasionally called B_z), and array of <B_l> as function of date per spectral line or combination. These two analyses are organized into separate series of python notebooks that outline each individual research task. Additionally, we provide notebooks and necessary modules for the harmonic fitting of the Bl time series and model constraints on the field geometry and strength. Note the harmonic fitting modules are current in-development functions, of the SpecpolFlow code.
