The fact that obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) indicates the link of gut dysbiosis in humans, but they show inconsistent results. Indonesia is classified into the top ten countries, of which the people have been suffering from the diabetic problem so far. In this study, we conducted a prospective study of the Indonesian gut microbiome and its metabolome in order to observe the correlation among them, resulting in obesity and the T2D. Fecal samples were collected from Indonesian adult men who lived in Jogjakarta city. The 16S rRNA sequencing with the V3-V4 regions was done by the Illumina MiSeq.
