MATTER-OF-FACT is a benchmark dataset consisting of 8.4K claims sourced from high-impact scientific articles across four contemporary material science subfields: superconductors, semiconductors, batteries, and aerospace materials. Each claim includes categorical metadata (qualitative or quantitative, as well as experimental, code, or theoretical focuses) paired with a knowledge cutoff date for feasibility assessment tasks. This dataset is designed to assist discovery systems in filtering claims, thereby enabling more discoveries under limited experimental budgets.
