Dry eye disease is a common and increasing ophthalmic clinical disease. Although the pathogenesis of DED and the pathological damage of DED to ocular surface were widely studied, the pathophysiologic mechanisms of corneal wound healing in DED remain unclear. Here, we induced the aqueous-deficient DED mouse model by extra-orbital lacrimal gland excision . Re-epithelialization, inflammatory response, and nerve regeneration after corneal epithelial abrasion in LGE-induced dry eye model were observed.
