Dataset for: Utilization of Rapid Survey of Agrobiodiversity Tools for the Assessment of Neglected and Underutilized Crop Species (NUS crops) Diversity in Ucayali, Perú

Dataset resulting from the application of the Rapid Agrobiodiversity Assessment tool in the Ucayali landscape in 2025. The dataset contains information on the cultivation and conservation of so-called ‘Neglected and Underutilized Species’ (NUS), basically native amazonian root and tubers crops, at the species and varietal level. Data was collected from 250 households, including indigenous and mestizo communities, using ArcGIS Survey 123. This report represents a comprehensive dataset for eight different NUS species: cassava (Manihot esculenta), sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), aerial potato (Dioscorea bulbifera L.), achipa or chuín (Pachyrhizus tuberosus), pituca (Colocasia sp., Xanthosoma sp.), dale-dale (Calathea allouia), and sacha papa (Dioscorea bulbifera). This data also contains key information on varietal characteristics, seed systems, non-food uses, food uses, reasons for discontinuation of cultivation, lost varieties, and drivers underlying the conservation of landraces
