The microarray analysis of Francisella tularensis subsp. tularensis strains SCHU P9 (virulent) and SCHU P0/P5 (attenuated) revealed significant differences in gene expression. The results showed that 19 genes were upregulated in the virulent SCHU P9 strain, while two genes, including ftt_0965c, were significantly downregulated Overall design: Francisella tularensis subsp. tularensis strains SCHU P9 (virulent) and SCHU P0/P5 (attenuated) were analyzed to screen for potential differences in gene expression. These strains were cultured on chocolate Eugon agar plates at 37°C for 2 days, with each strain being cultured in duplicate, providing two biological replicates per condition. After 48 hours of incubation, total RNA was extracted and quality-checked using a Bioanalyzer 2100. The microarray involved hybridizing the labeled RNA from these strains onto an Agilent microarray chip containing probes specific to the F. tularensis genome.
