Acoustic backscattering data were collected with a pole-mounted split-beam echo sounder transmitting a broadband (150-250 kHz) 1.024 ms pulse. The acoustic systems was calibrated before the field work using the standard sphere method (Demer et al., 2015). The transducer had an 7 degree circular beam angle and power was set to 150 W.
