The forms provide personal information about the clients and their families.Protection application, pre court reports and temporary care applications are also included in this series.The Ballarat Reception Centre was established by the Victorian Government under the Children's Welfare Act 1958 on 11 July 1961, together with the Allambie Reception Centre. The Reception Centre was renamed 'Warrawee' in 1964. Warrawee accommodated 15 to 18 children aged up to 14 years. Warrawee's purpose was to care for children awaiting Court hearing on orders for safe custody. Furthermore, many children admitted by the Court to the Family Welfare Division remained at Warrawee for a period before being placed with private families or in children's homes. Some children returned to the Centre following a breakdown in subsequent arrangements.
