Tuberculosis Household Risk Exposure Estimates 2019

This dataset contains estimates for the number of persons with exposure to household incident pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) for 20 high-incidence TB countries in 2019 (as determined by Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2019 estimates). Estimates were produced using pulmonary TB incidence from the GBD 2019 and location-specific household structure data from Demographic Health Surveys (DHS) and Integrated Public Use Microdata Series (IPUMs). Estimates include mean and 95% uncertainty intervals for both sexes disaggregated by age groups. These estimates inform a paper published in EclinicalMedicine in November 2021 titled “Estimating the population at high risk for tuberculosis through household exposure in high-incidence countries: a model-based analysis."
