German Media and Political Twitter Accounts

The datasets were collected to explore the discussions by German media and political accounts on the social media platform X. The sampling strategy comprised: (1) accounts of parties and politicians in the German Bundestag based on the Database of public speakers (DBoeS) of the Social Media Observatory (Schmidt et al., 2023) (2) accounts of German traditional media outlets and journalists that wrote for these outlets (names were collected via the Factiva database) (3) accounts from the Bundespressekonferenz based on the Database of public speakers (DBoeS) of the Social Media Observatory (Schmidt et al., 2023) (4) accounts of tech blogs based on the repository by the Digital Dictionary of the German Language (DWDS) (Barbaresi & Pohlmann, 2021)
