Draft Genomes and Ethanol Production Capabilities of Two Cold-Adapted Mrakia Strains from the Arctic Region

Mrakia is a yeast genus commonly found in cold environments such as the Antarctic and Arctic regions and is well known for its cold adaptation. Members of the Mrakia genus are capable of growing at subzero temperatures but typically do not grow at temperatures above 20 degrees. In this study, we isolated two cold-adapted yeast strains, Mrakia gelida PAMC 26583 and Mrakia robertii PAMC 26600, from Arctic lichens.
