iSamples Sample Management Training Module for Rock Outcrop Samples

Abstract: Presented is a three part training module for student researchers to learn sample collection, processing, and management protocol including proper sample documentation, registration, and tracking in a small academic department collaborative research setting. Module may be used as a template/model for customized training for new researchers in any setting. The workflow is based on terrestrial field sampling of bedrock outcrop samples and processing/management for metamorphic petrology and tectonics research. This training module was developed as part of the EarthCube iSamples Research Coordination Network.
