Discovery of a beta Carboline Derivative as a Novel Therapeutic Agent for Pulmonary Hypertension

we demonstrated that a beta carboline derivative can effectively inhibit the development of rat pulmonary hypertension for the first time. Since pulmonary hypertension is an incurable disease, the beta carboline derivative may be a potential clinical drug for this group. This is due to the fact that one of its targets, pyruvate kinase isozyme type 2, is involved in metabolic reprogramming, proproliferative, and inflammatory stimuli.
