Investigation of the physical aptitude assessment of the German professional fire departments for gender neutrality (database)

This dataset contains results from physical fitness assessments of 1,638 applicants to German professional fire departments or for training as plant fire fighters from a total of 13 fire departments. The dataset was collected in 2024. For each participant, the gender as well as whether they passed (B) or failed (N) the test tasks administered by the respective fire department are documented. Where known, the performance results are documented. The aptitude tests were conducted in accordance with the official test manual “Physische Eignungsfeststellung für die Berufsfeuerwehr in Deutschland”. The test tasks contained therein, as well as the respective minimum requirements for passing the physical aptitude assessment, are listed in the attached PDF „Abstract_Daten“.
