资源简介:
The objective of the Wyoming Class VI Site Characterization Database is to expedite Class VI permitting for carbon storage hubs in Wyoming’s Greater Green River Basin (GGRB), and Sweetwater County in particular. The database will compile, standardize, and verify geologic and geotechnical data to support efficient application preparation and regulatory review for multi-source carbon storage projects. By reducing data gaps and uncertainty—key contributors to permitting delays in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) development—the effort will streamline timelines and improve decision-making. The database includes geotechnical data and maps addressing key regulatory categories: geologic and topographic maps and cross sections; regional hydrostratigraphy; regional groundwater flow; surface air and soil gas monitoring; injection zone, confining zone, and site suitability characteristics; and faults, fractures, and seismic history data. All datasets were derived from and validated against established public geologic sources to ensure consistency and regulatory applicability. The project also establish a scalable methodology to extend the database to other priority regions in Wyoming, including the Powder River Basin and the Denver-Julesburg Basin.
