Diversity and Phylogeny of fungi. The family Inocybaceae in West Africa: Diversity, molecular taxonomy, phylogeography and evolution

Currently, fungal species present in tropical regions are under-represented in theclassification, unlike those in temperate zones where fungal taxonomy is better known. Thisstudy is aimeing at clarifying and making reliable the identification, description and theevolution of Inocybaceae, one less investigated taxa from tropical Africa. We will use acombination of traditional anatmo-morphological approach and the odern moleculartechniques to increase our understanding of species concepts and limits within theInocybaceae, by enlarging our dataset to include tropical African, temperate and borealzones.Traditional tyxonomic works will be carried out following standard technics describedfor this family. The molecular taxonomy will be based on a multiple genes analyses notablethe ITS, nLSU and RPB2 regions. Ecological aspects will be addressed and will allowdetecting the forest trees partners of Inocybaceae in tropical African context. This study willalso serve as a basis for studies on the early detection of Inocybaceae fungi and thetraceability of their evolution and their preferable habitat.
