Commercial Glycolic Extract of Coffee (Coffea arabica) and Mango Essence as potential attractants for Ceratitis capitata (Diptera: Tephritidae)_main text + raw data + statistic data

In this work, we tested, under field cage tests, the effectiveness of the commercial glycolic extract of coffee (Coffea arabica) and a commercial mango essence (Mangifera indica) to attract C. capitata, under field cage tests, and identified the main volatile compounds emitted from such products. It was noticed that, in field cages, the glycolic extract of coffee attracts both sexes of C. capitata, while the mango essence attracts only males. After seven days, the pH of the coffee extract and mango essence did not change. In addition, we elucidated the main volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in both attractants.
