This study aimed to define the transcriptome response in shoots of dark-adapted Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings grown on media with sucrose or mannitol in the dark or transferred to the light with or without 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea (DCMU), an inhibitor of photosynthesis. The experimental design enabled identification of transcripts regulated by sugar both in the presence and absence of light.
