LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF TURKIC TOPONYMS FOUND IN "HISTORY OF BUKHARA" AND OTHER LOCAL SOURCES

This article examines the linguistic features of Turkic toponyms found in Abu Bakr Narshakhi's "History of Bukhara" and local waqf documents of the Bukhara oasis. The paper highlights the semantic and etymological stratification of oykonyms, hydronyms, and oronyms, as well as the functions and dialectal features of archaic Turkic lexemes such as yop, jar, qayir, and tegin. Furthermore, it analyzes the interaction patterns of Turkic and Iranian linguistic elements and the formation rules of hybrid toponymic models under the conditions of bilingualism in the Bukhara oasis.
