资源简介:
The Bulgars were a semi-nomadic people of Turkic origin who originally emerged in the Eurasian steppes, near the Volga and North Caucasus regions. While many migrated westward in the early Middle Ages, eventually forming the foundations of Bulgaria in the Balkans, a lesser-known branch of the Bulgars moved eastward or remained in Central Asia. This dataset is a sample of places mentioned in István Zimonyi's book “The Origins of the Volga Bulgars.” This book covers the origins of the Bulgars, from their first mentions in the context of Old Great Bulgaria, through the 10th Century along the Volga River.
