This study investigates the molecular response of mastitis-causing pathogen, Staphylococcus aureus, to treatment with octanoic acid (OA). Using RNA-sequencing, we identified differentially expressed genes involved in key cellular processes such as membrane disruption, metabolic interference, and stress response. The data provide insights into the multimodal antimicrobial mechanisms of OA, which could contribute to developing alternative therapies for recurrent bovine mastitis.
