Watermelon Seed Embryo Endophytic Bacterial Diversity Analysis in Different Cultivars. seed metagenome

This study was aimed at assessing the endophytic bacterial diversity associated with the seed embryos in different cultivars of watermelon adopting cultivation versus cultivation-independent 16S rRNA taxonomic profiling. The DNA extracted from the embryo-homogenate from different cultivars was taken through 16S rRNA V3-V4 region amplicon profiling. The findings indicated the embryo colonization by diverse bacteria in a cultivation recalcitrant form and their vertical transmissibility.
