Diabetes mellitus is a frequent chronic metabolic disease, considered as epidemic. Methods: It’s a descriptive and retrospective study based on a sample of 50 patients at the HPGRK on a period of 2 years. Results: About 60% were women and 40% men with a sex ratio of 1,5/1. The most affected group was between 52 and 62 years old, 94% of patients had an age > 40 ans with an average age of 55,48±11,620. Type 2 was predominant with 82,0%. 32% of patients were often obese (12%) and overweight (20%) and 8% malnourished. The cardinal signs of diabetes mellitus (44%) were the main complaints. The glycemia > 200 mg/dl (64%). Diabetes risk factor returns to family history of diabetes mellitus (56%) and cardiovascular risk factors to alcohol (60%) and high blood pressure. The diabetic foot was the main complication (42%). Conclusion: Diabetes mellitus is common. It often affects women more than men over the age of 40. Diabetic foot is the most common complication.
