Indicator: Wetland Habitat in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed (2014-2024)

This data does not include wetlands created, restored, or enhanced as part of regulatory mitigation requirements. The Habitat Tracker includes metrics that support analyses of other wetland attributes related to ecosystem function and geographic assessments of implementation, such as population data on at-risk, threatened, and endangered species and migratory waterfowl. The attributes collected can be modified over time to align with habitat restoration goals. Some data may be missing from jurisdictions that do not track county or Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) information required for reporting, which can result in unspecified project acres.</p><p><strong>Note: This Indicator supported progress tracking toward the Wetlands Outcome in the original Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement, adopted in 2014. The Watershed Agreement and Wetlands Outcome were revised in 2025.</strong></p>
