This dataset presents corrected distribution records and species richness layer for amphibians and reptiles across the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP), compiled from species occurrence data sourced from four primary inputs: field surveys conducted by our teams (2019-2024), literature synthesis, museum records (the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). All records underwent rigorous taxonomic correction and standardization based on the most current classification systems to ensure accuracy, resulting in a consolidated dataset of 168 validated amphibian occurrence points and 189 validated reptile occurrence points. Utilizing these corrected points, Species Distribution Models (SDMs) were successfully generated for 163 plateau-dwelling amphibian species and 188 plateau-dwelling reptile species, effectively covering 97% of the herpetofauna documented on the QTP. These individual SDMs were then integrated to produce the final species richness layer, depicting the spatial patterns of amphibian and reptile diversity across the plateau. This dataset provides a crucial, updated, and taxonomically verified resource for biogeographical studies, conservation planning, and assessing climate change impacts on the unique herpetofauna of the QTP.
