Energy Security and Economic Growth in the European Union: The Moderating Role of Industrial Structure

This dataset supports the empirical analysis presented in the study on the relationship between energy security, industrial structure, and economic growth in the European Union (EU). It contains a harmonized panel dataset covering EU member states over the period 2000–2024, constructed from multiple Eurostat and Eurostat Comext sources.

The repository includes the main dataset used for econometric estimation, comprising the dependent variable (GDP growth), key explanatory variables (energy security and industrial structure), their interaction term, and standard macroeconomic control variables such as investment, inflation, trade openness, and renewable energy. The dataset is organized in a country–year panel format and allows full replication of the empirical results.

In addition to the harmonized dataset, the repository provides the underlying raw data sources, variable definitions, and documentation describing data construction and transformation procedures. All data are publicly available and have been cleaned and processed to ensure consistency across countries and time.
