Economic Complexity and Value-Added Capture: Country-Level Panel Datasets (1995–2023)
收藏资源简介:
Economic Complexity and Value-Added Capture: Country-Level Panel Datasets (1995–2023) These four datasets, provided in CSV format, contain country-level panel data on economic complexity, value-added capture, and unequal exchange of labour in the world economy for the period 1995–2023. The datasets introduce new estimates of value-added production, realisation, and capture constructed by Tomas Rotta. These data are combined with the Economic Complexity Index (ECI) from the Atlas of Economic Complexity and selected economic indicators from the World Bank’s World Development Indicators (WDI). Version 1, published on 16 March 2026. Datasets labelled “Marxian” implement the Marxian distinction between productive and unproductive economic activities. Datasets labelled “Conventional” follow the conventional assumption that all economic activities are productive. Datasets labelled “v1” use the world median wage as the reference wage and assume a beta coefficient of 0.50. Datasets labelled “v2” use the world average wage as the reference wage and assume a beta coefficient of 1.00. For a beta coefficient equal to 0.00, use the variables with the suffix “_unadjusted_for_skills”.
