Bioeconomic Analysis for Arctic Marine Resource Governance and Policy, 2015-2022

Arctic living marine resources face threats of invasive species, climate change and the increased overlap with anthropogenic use. With an integrated system of information of biology, economic incentives and institutional aspects, we have context to understand the dynamic and spatial challenges. Our bioeconomic analyses help decipher strategies to address marine invasive species through transboundary Arctic vigilance and incentives. We answer: (1) What are the bioeconomic features of Arctic marine resources at risk of change over space and time? (2) How do human behavior and policy incentives directly and indirectly impact these marine resources? (3) What are the best governance options for Arctic marine resources? We will develop innovative bioeconomic analyses, apply game theoretic tools and investigate policies to combat the marine invasive species vectors and threats to Arctic marine living resources.
