This study investigates the genetic diversity of Macrophomina phaseolina, a major fungal pathogen responsible for cotton root rot in India. Using molecular markers and phylogenetic analysis, we characterize the genetic variability among isolates collected from different cotton-growing regions. The findings provide insights into population structure, pathogenicity variations, and potential management strategies for M. phaseolina-induced root rot in cotton.
